ML is a rake from Cologne who loves sound and vision. Besides being a journalist and night owl he is in charge for the 150 Session radio show for Radio Cómeme and NTS Radio that he always tunes with no clue what to do. ML’s shows come around as an eclectic genre meltdown that marries avant-techno with rural chants from the past, odd house emotions with detailed minimal music, psychedelic fuzz with big city jazz and beyond. No country, no flag – outernational without a cause.
Following her interest in sound and collective listening, her current home in the circumpolar north, is frequented by friends and collaborators as sanctuary, studio and conduit. With the potential of sound itself being a temporary, immersive, shared space, she works with a series of field recordings and compositions from her nomadic studio, that intimately reflects selected places and moods. Her current live sets are intuitive compositions, layering sound as live collages, with the aim to exercise sonic dialogues that might entangle in the ecologies of the vast landscapes of within. A similar approach is guiding the selection of records and sounds presented in her DJ sets, mix tapes and radioshows. Following «Dybden», a shared 12" with DJ Sotofett released on WANIA (2016), and the two LP´s UDU and AVAV produced with Psykovarius put out by Sex Tags Amfibia, her most current solo compositions can be found on «Garden of Feelings», an LP also inaugurating her own label «In the Neighborhood of the Sun, the Moon and the Stars». More of her music and mixtapes have been published by the labels Good Morning Tapes, Vaagner and Holuzam.
Polido is a musician and artist from Marinha Grande, currently living and working in Lisbon. From a materialist approach to sound, his work is guided by questions of cultural memory, tradition, technology, crossings of music history and socio-politics. His music disseminates these issues with a personal vocabulary, assembling surreal narratives for concrete spaces.
Polido runs the embryonic label Projecto de Vida through which he organises evenings of music and conversation, and his music has been published by the labels Holuzam, ANA, Bus Editions, and Lynn.
"Sagat is a producer based in Brussels who specializes in bass music, offering a distinctive perspective. Exploring Different cadences of contemporary dance music, navigating its traditional conventions while challenging established norms. Sagat’s work is rooted in the dance floor while also embracing a spirit of playful experimentation."
Mankiyan’s spatial sets are full of depth and intuition, spanning across heady dub, rave, UK bass and grime. She toys with complex rhythm sequences and easily switches genres, with healthy splashes of bright twists – but always with an impeccable sense of pace and flow. Mankiyan is injecting community-driven, unpretentious and unadulterated love for rave culture back into nightlife.
It's clear that Lisbon-based DJ Chima Isaaro (FKA Chimahiro) has been doing the work. Lighting up the basements of Brussels, the dance halls of Milan, and renowned spaces like Panorama Bar or Doka Amsterdam, as well as the reputable venues of her home turf with versatility and a honed instinct for groove, the seasoned selector — who is as much a dancer as a digger — is rightly becoming recognized for her uplifting, surprising, and always generous sets. Well-known for effortlessly melodic sonic journeys that weave through the time-spaces of techno, house, disco, soul, batida, jazz, and more, she consistently offers up Black-rooted candescence, for the people.
Her mix series Nyce & Slo has long been a favorite for discerning lovers and yearners, while her jacked-up, turned-out dance mixes on platforms including Boiler Room, NTS and Rinse FM, or her performances at festivals such as Sonar, Terraforma and Waking Life, have won her devotees internationally. Chima Isaaro sustains that expansive energy with a universal invitation: you can come if you can dance.
