For nearly two decades, Voltmar has imperturbably steered Minimood with a fervent commitment to the underground. Renowned for his immersive explorations of depth in techno, the artist’s infectious DJ sets guide audiences into unfathomable transcendental states. Beyond these endeavours, Voltmar pursues interdisciplinary collaborations with the fine arts. At past editions of DC Open and Art Cologne, he initiated the Metamorphosis Off-Spaces—experimental settings where contemporary art and electronic music interact. Occasionally, during full moons, Voltmar immerses himself in the studio, working predominantly on deep, contemplative techno. Together with his friend Kelo, the duo known as Kelovolt explores field-recording–based melancholic soundscapes. A few remixes (solo and collaborative) have surfaced so far, and a Kelovolt 2x12” will be forthcoming as minimood027.
Take any of Blazej Malinowski’s numerous projects—his wide-ranging productions, powerful DJ or live sets, events, radio shows or record label Inner Tension—and you will find the same ethos at the core. They’re all built on a passion for creating uplifting moments through electronic music, and on an open-mindedness to explore, collaborate and evolve.
Though Malinowski recently made the move to Berlin in order to fully realise his ambitions, he remains as committed as ever to his native Poland’s musical landscape, holding down a residency at Jasna1 and tirelessly championing the country’s cultural history and vibrant scene. From his new home, a global hub for dance music, Malinowski is pushing himself to explore the full range of possibilities within techno’s ever-evolving framework.
Philipp Stoffel — DJ and producer from Cologne, Germany — has been born, raised, and deeply embedded in the city’s vibrant electronic music scene. Over seven years working in distribution for Cologne’s legendary label KOMPAKT, he has cultivated an extensive understanding of electronic music’s many facets. During this time, he got to know the underground culture first-hand, which had a lasting influence on his approach and vision of techno. Stoffel’s DJ sets mirror this diversity: seamlessly weaving experimental ambient, contemporary minimal, and hypnotic techno into immersive sonic journeys. His own productions stand out for unconventional grooves, rich sound design, and layered textures.
