As a producer, Marcus has been closely linked with Dixon and Âme’s Innervisions label and their unique brand of emotive club music for the entirety of his career. Friendship and a genuine interest in human interaction continue to inform all of his creative efforts. Those principles have led to collaborations with Peter Pardeike, Osunlade, Prins Thomas, Âme's Frank Wiedemann, Daniel Bortz, Mr. White (of Larry Heard fame) and UK singer/songwriter Fink.
Whether it’s original material or remixes for The xx, Tevo Howard & Tracy Thorne, UR’s Gerald Mitchell and labels like DFA or Running Back, Marcus’ tracks run the gamut from
dancefloor-ready jams to the expansive ambience of Vermont, his production duo with Danilo Plessow (Motor City Drum Ensemble) that has brought forth two acclaimed LPs on Cologne institution Kompakt Records.
His latest release with Innervisions, „Broad Horizons“ not only showcases his connection with
house music, it also hints at his love of dub and reggae. This open minded approach to music is
what makes Marcus Worgull succeed as a DJ who can perfectly read his audience, without losing
his instinct for deep haunting grooves that feed his soul.
In 2020 Marcus started his own label Chorus Records with releases by Frank Wiedemann, Imperieux a.o..
Âme’s singularity is derived from their strata – a catacomb of Frank Wiedemann and Kristian Beyer’s symbiotic relationship. The inception of their 15+ year collaboration impossible to
pinpoint, woven among chance meetings, seminal introductions and unbridled curiosity. They are not so much defined from their past but by what is to come.
