Manchester’s own Pierluigi Zardetto, better known as Zar, has been making waves in the Drum & Bass scene with his deep, soulful take on the genre. With Italian roots and a keen ear for melody, Zar’s music blends jazz, soul, and hip-hop sampling techniques to create emotive, forward-thinking liquid D&B.
Zar has been carving out his own lane with releases on respected labels like Gemini Gemini, Footnotes, Rosebay, and V Recordings. His debut album, released last year on DRS’s Space Cadet imprint, was named one of the best albums of 2024 by UKF—solidifying his place as one of the genre’s most exciting new voices.
Now working closely with Gemini Gemini, Space Cadet and Footnotes, Zar continues to refine his signature sound—lush tones, intricate composition, and deep grooves—while also exploring downtempo styles. He also joined the SUNANDBASS family, representing SUNANDBASS Recordings together with ArpXP and Delicat.
Representing real drum and bass at it’s finest, Mantra’s deep and emotive sound in the mix comes from an intense passion for the music, with her sets pushing the boundaries of drum and bass while still paying homage to its foundation.
Far more than just a DJ and producer, Mantra’s work developing, curating, and promoting the Rupture brand, as a label and as jungle’s premier event, speak to how deeply drum and bass culture influences her life.
Few DJs can claim to be an original architect of the Drum & Bass scene and still be operating at the cutting edge more than 20 years later, but DJ Bailey is one of them.
Resident Metalheadz DJ, Intabeats Founder, Serato Artist and respected radio presenter, Bailey’s sets today are as full of fresh and innovative music as they were in 1995 when Kemistry & Storm recruited him for Goldie’s now-legendary Blue Note Sunday Sessions. Whether in a club, on radio or online, Bailey’s commitment to shining a light on exciting new musical talent is beyond question.
With turntable & selection skills second-to-none, Bailey is an alchemist in the mix. His ability to adapt to any crowd in any environment justifies his reputation as one of the finest DJs in the world. From the most menacing of techstep to the most liquid of funk, Bailey’s unparalleled knowledge and love of D&B shines through in every electrifying set, gaining him the respect and admiration of audiences from Australia to Japan to Canada and right across Europe.
For the past two years, Miezibub has been making waves as an emerging Drum and Bass DJ, quickly establishing herself in the local scene.
Hailing from Aachen (Germany now based in cologne ), she has already shared the booth with heavyweights like Skeptical and Wingz, and delivered her signature sound on respected radio platforms such as Indialman invites Riddim Box, Refuge Worldwide, and Callshop Radio.
Her own show “unity”—dedicated to DnB and Jungle—on Callshop Radio.
After her debut at Openground Freifeld in January alongside Ehua and Maruhni, she’s now returning again—ready to bring more bass-heavy energy to the floor.
Born in Rome from Italian and Egyptian parents, Gio aka Alite moves to London in 2003 after spending most of her adolescence buying records in Rome. Being a vinyl junkie, her style is eclectic. Her sets can cover a span of 30 years and different drum and bass flavours ranging from Jungle to Techstep, yet always retaining deep soulful notes. She plans her sets as journeys she wants the crowd to commit to, letting the music speak for itself.
17 years in London, she performs across the UK, Europe and the US with gigs at MOS, Fabric, KoKo, Herbal, Plastic People, to name a few. She also becomes a part of SUNANDBASS and regularly plays for events across Europe.
Gio is an integral part of the SUNANDBASS family. She had been responsible for developing and establishing the artist experience for over a decade, and left an impressive legacy for the team since stepping back from operations and enjoying the beaches of San Teodoro.

DJ Soulsurfer has been one of the steady voices of the German jungle and drum & bass scene for over three decades. From the influential Phaze Club, whose program he co-curated, to almost 500 of his own events and a radio show on Bassdrive, he has played well over a thousand sets across clubs, festivals and radio studios.
For more than 15 years he also worked behind the counter in record shops and was one of the go-to authorities in Germany for drum & bass vinyl – including at Freebase and Delirium. This is where he met Delicat, one of the ideators of SUNANDBASS, providing him with the black gold that fueled his passion for drum & bass. This led to a long-standing friendship and his involvement in shaping the festival behind the scenes since day 1.
Musically, he stands for a deep yet danceable drum & bass sound, shaped by excursions into reggae, dancehall, footwork, UK garage, breaks and house. Next to being a resident DJ at SUNANDBASS, he has has also been at home on the floors of legendary raves such as Time Warp, Fusion, One Nation, Kings of the Jungle, Desire, Logical Progression, Jungle Fever and Vibration Club, though he generally prefers small, intimate clubs. On this night he will play a deep jungle set with plenty of classics and fresh productions – stripped back to the essentials, but with enough weight for the dance floor.
