A typical DJ Pete performance is always a mixture of programming, sequencing, layering and live effects that goes far beyond the pure presentation of tracks. Behind the decks, he earns respect for his individual but refined mixing skills with his encyclopedic knowledge of techno history and an unquenchable thirst for new sounds. His energetic sets also feature elements of pure techno and powerful house tracks.
DJ Nobu is an exceptional DJ who doesn't limit himself to one style but draws from a wide range of musical worlds to create a unique sound space that only he can create.
For those who know his DJing, he is more than just a DJ and is recognized as a cult figure. His 20-odd years of experience are expressed in his trusted parties at Future Terror, label Bitta, and several recordings and mixes, connecting him to a dedicated fan base.

Slikback (real name: Fredrick M Njau) is an electronic producer from Nairobi, Kenya mainly focusing on experimental music, noise, bass and high intensity rhythms. Over the years his sound has morphed into various forms all meant to be an expression of different ideas and emotions. Unbound by any specific thing, his unique blend of sounds can be found in his multiple releases.
“Attrition" (July 18, 2025) marks his first full-length album for Planet Mu, delivering an immersive melding of cinema and game sound design with tough dance music, drawing on elements of Gqom, Dubstep, Tech-Step, and Hardcore Techno. It's like a sci-fi film for the ears, exploring a chain of events with dark atmospheres and dramatic pacing; trapdoors and auditory jump scares. A standout moment in Slikback’s career, "Attrition" is a masterclass in sound design and vision. Strange yet beautiful, intense yet rewarding.
DJ Pete combines highly individual yet refined mixing skills with both his vast encyclopedic knowledge of electronic music history and an unquenchable thirst for new sounds that carry the potential to push all boundaries across linnovations in sound. Expect everything from Vintage Aphex Twin to 2025 U.K. bass heavy mutations via Berlin and Detroit.
Japan’s DJ Nobu is one of a kind; a DJ with no fixed style but instead a very real ability to draw on a wide world of music and cook up his own unique sound spaces. His decades of experience has slowly but surely turned him from being one of Japan’s, to one of the world’s, most indemand selectors who is famously flexible and ever evolving.
In the Annex - HYPER REAL lands in Wuppertal! The brainchild of Berlin-based DJ and curator Opium Hum, it's a traveling club series and thriving online community that's been championing bass-heavy music from the margins for over a decade, prior editions of the party taking place at clubs such as Bassiani in Tbilisi or RSO in Berlin and Fuchs2 in Prague – now making its debut at Open Ground.
Berlin-based selector, journalist and organizer Bensleia opens the night with her fearless cross-genre approach, moving effortlessly between Amapiano, UK Garage, Jungle and beyond. Kenyan heavyweight Slikback will bring his relentless, visceral take on industrial bass to Annex - think Grime meets Drill meets Deconstructed Club at 160+ BPM. He has been turning heads since his Nyege Nyege days and is now releasing on Planet Mu and collaborating with titans like Brodinski and Skrillex, while never softening his abrasive, experimental edge. Closing it out will be a very special b2b between Opium Hum and Dutch selector and Rinse FM resident Nala Brown, two masters of cross-genre selection joining forces for what promises to be an absolute masterclass in boundary-smashing DJing.
This one is a must for the bass addicts, the crate diggers and the genre agnostics who see the dancefloor not as escape, but as a labyrinth of musical multitudes!
