DJ Lag’s superb production skills have played a big part in transforming a sub-genre of house – one that began by soundtracking taxi trips around Durban – to an enviably innovative participant in the global scene. It's a stunning rise and DJ Lag is ready to put in the work required to make sure Gqom is remembered forever.
Shannen SP is a London based creative hybrid. Her high energy DJ sets explore the vanguard of the global club underground, while her style delves into the darker, edgier side of non Western electronic music. As a DJ, she has supported Arca, Batu, and Jamie XX, with recent tours in East Asia and India. Behind the scenes her A&R work spans Hyperdub, NTS, and Spitfire Audio. Described as “quietly prolific” by Crack Magazine, she has held radio residencies with NTS and Rinse FM, with mixes for Dekmantel, DJ Mag, and Fact. She has performed across international clubs and festivals including Berghain, Oil Shenzhen, Fabric, Nyege Nyege, Glastonbury, and Dekmantel Selectors.
State OFFF, Zimbabwe-born and Amsterdam-based, has been igniting dancefloors worldwide with his bold productions and high-energy sets, earning a spot on Mixmag’s "Top 25 Artists to Watch in 2025."
His journey began with GQOM TODAY (2022), a debut EP that showcased his forward- thinking approach to Gqom. In 2024, State OFFF cemented his reputation with Simulacra and The Offering, two standout releases blending Gqom, Baile Funk, and other global sounds, alongside EDITSSS, his viral remix series that seamlessly reworks pop, R&B, and hip hop for the club. These projects have racked up millions of views and critical acclaim, positioning him as one of the most innovative producers of the moment.
As a DJ, State OFFF’s command of the dancefloor is unrivaled.
Andras_2020 is a rising figure in Europe’s burgeoning electronic music scene. Their sound combines the sonorous ripples of their Latin America with experimental pop, deconstructed club music and avant-garde. With influences that range from Brazilian funk to hyperpop, Andras’ music features lyrics that encompass explicitness, clashing with hard hitting drums and their soft falsetto.
Originally from Brazil, the artist garnered a dedicated following after releasing their intricate and textured debut EP, “Cuerpo Temperamental (acting in concert),” in 2021 and their multiple features on the Mutants Mixtape Compilation, initiated by Venezuelan pioneer Arca. This success was followed by the Cuerpo Tour, which saw Andras enthralling audiences across Europe and the UK for nearly two years. As a live performer, Andras’ work amalgamates contemporary dance and club culture. Their performances fuse the visceral materiality of the body, violent screams, and poetry, exploring themes of survival and physical transformation, contrasted with the gentleness of soft pop live aesthetics.
Motivated by a desire and natural ability to fuse personal experiences with creative expression, Andras released “Blowhole” for Rest Now! (Berlin) in October, 2024. The title candidly contrasts the concept of inhaling and exhaling through a hole, like cetaceans, with anal pleasure and its associations with queerness and discomfort.
Miserere Mei originated as a side project of Wuppertal raised and Vienna based artist Ungemach @ungemach000 to condense his passion for the remote sides of electronic music into an appropriate shape. With crooked soundscapes and merciless cascades, Miserere Mei traverses borrowings from industrial, noise, UK bass and deconstructed club, without ever being firmly placed in one of these genres. Despite all the brute force, the idea that gave birth to this project is never lost sight of: Joy. As vicious as its expression may be.
STI ZOI is driven by a fascination with the ever-evolving Zeitgeist and shaped by a rich multicultural perspective. She seeks to create a unique crossroads where music, culture, and identity converge— where genres shift and blend, and each mix becomes an immersive, emotionally textured experience that lives in the in-between spaces.
MYEN can be broken down as a project of audio hyperstition, sonic tulpamancy and self described funeral music. His music is often driven by immersive and cinematic sound design, heavy distortion and an overall feeling of suspense. He is currently based in Leipzig, Germany, has worked on collaborative projects with Raiika, Sissy Misfit and KAVARI and recently self-released his EP "MARTYRDOM".
B3CKI’s sets are driven by heavy bass, breaks, and bouncy kicks. Always playful, melodic, and rooted in her Indonesian background, with influences from pop, hip-hop, and global club sounds
Mzansi Bass at Open Ground celebrates the launch of the forthcoming compilation of the same name, curated by Shannen SP, to be released with Colombian label Tratratrax on the 12th of June.
Built with 100% new material, Mzansi Bass centers artists pushing the boundaries of bass music in South Africa, spotlighting the continuum of radical invention coming out of the region’s electronic sphere. Exploring the hypnotic, darker, bassier sounds in between 3-step, Gqom and experimental Amapiano to form a succinct snapshot of the country’s unique soundsystem culture. Deeply rooted in Black African rave music from the local scenes of Durban, Johannesburg, Cape Town, and Pretoria, Shannen describes it as “electronic music that is embodied, trance inducing and deeply physical.”
With a powerful line up featuring artists on the compilation, this party presents a unique offering of bass music. Durban’s gqom icon DJ Lag, who has collaborated with artists ranging from Moses Boyd to Novelist to Ape Drums and has taken his intoxicating brand of Gqom to clubs all over the world, from Seoul, to Colombia to New York. Shannen SP, whose sets platform the vanguard of the global club underground with recent tours in India and East Asia, and support slots for Arca, Batu and Jamie XX. State OFFF, the Zimbabwe-born and Amsterdam-based artist who has been igniting dancefloors worldwide with his bold productions and high-energy sets, blending Gqom, Baile Funk, Dubstep, and other global sounds, earning him a spot on Mixmag’s „Top 25 Artists to Watch in 2025.“
Expect to hear boundary pushing club music, hybrid genres and lots of unreleased material.
Echidna strives to carve out spaces for musical expressions which challenge familiar forms, motivated by an unwavering desire to bring attention to the unnoticed - through deep bass, sharp rhythms, and music that refuses to quiet down. Echidna is not designed to comfort: we provoke collision to compose an ode to the unknown. Returning to Annex the third time, Echidna teamed up with Andras_2020’s event series Subtle Wreck.
Subtle Wreck grows from a desire to deepen the presence of diasporic electronic music in European contexts, moving beyond the obvious and making space for more layered, experimental, and unsettled approaches to sound.
Together, Echidna x Subtle Wreck channel their shared ambitions to curate a night that invites you to indulge in lurching amplitudes and unexpected danceability. Through live performances and DJ sets, the invited artists twist the frameworks of post-club and leftfield bass into a kaleidoscope of abrasive sound that refuses to quiet down.
