Mit Co-Signings von einigen der einflussreichsten europäischen Venues, Plattformen und Labels – darunter der Salon des Amateurs in Düsseldorf und NTS Radio in London – hat sich der in Köln ansässige Künstler Phillip Jondo seit vielen Jahren den Ruf als erstklassiger DJ und Produzent erarbeitet.

Seine Debüt-EP „Little Princess“ auf Dekmantel (2021) überzeugte mit eindrucksvollen Kollaborationen mit Maxwell Sterling, DJ Plead und Moa Pillar. Auch seine aktuelle Veröffentlichung, die „BISQU EP“ mit Xzavier Stone und DJ Plead, erscheint auf seinem eigenen Label SPA Recordings und schlägt einen ebenso kraftvollen Weg ein. Das Label SPA gründete Jondo 2018 gemeinsam mit DJ Brom und Friday Dunard.

Seit 2014 hostet Phillip Jondo regelmäßig Sendungen auf NTS Radio und lädt internationale Gäste ein, die mit zukunftsweisenden und kreativen Selektionen überzeugen. Seine Sets bewegen sich stilistisch zwischen Grime, House, Footwork, Jungle, Rap, Dancehall, R&B, Disco und basslastigem Techno.

Seine Leidenschaft für das Experimentieren macht ihn zu einem einzigartigen Selector, der es versteht, verschiedene Stile durch durchdachtes Layering und kreatives Mixing miteinander zu verbinden.

Mit Highlights wie Auftritten bei Draaimolen, Meakusma, Dekmantel, Dekmantel Selectors, Melt, Robert Johnson und De School hat Jondo seinen unverwechselbaren Sound einem breiten Publikum in ganz Europa präsentiert. (Aus dem Englischen übersetzt)

Known for her fierce drum breaks, bass heavy club bouncers and 140-160 BPM madness, the budding selector has already been gaining notoriety as a force to be reckoned with.
As a booker, raver and all-round muso, Dangermami had already learnt the ins and outs of the electronic scene before even laying a finger on a mixer. Upon deciding to step from the dancefloor into the booth, she founded a mentorship programme to help other femmes looking to launch their careers. Femme Bass Mafia is the result of this idea.
