We strive to create a space where you can be yourself, enjoy the night and look after each other.
We do not tolerate racism, sexism or any other form of discrimination.

At the Door

When you enter the club our team will welcome you and lay out some of our policies. Bags and pockets will be checked for non-allowed items.

Please don't worry about being cool enough or young enough or styled right – just be yourself and be nice.

We reserve the right to refuse access in case of drunk, aggressive or otherwise inappropriate behavior including wearing or displaying discriminating or offensive symbols.

We work with the Steinberger security team.

You must be 18 or older.

Inside

At Open Ground, we want you to feel safe and comfortable.

Our awareness team is always nearby for you.

If you or someone around you feels unwell, or if something doesn’t feel right, please reach out to any team member.

We’re all connected by radio and ready to help or call for assistance.

Please respect our strict no-photos policy. Cameras will be stickered. The club is an intimate environment - we want your privacy and that of others to be protected.

GSM reception is poor.

Also, please respect the smoking ban - seriously.
There is a convenient smoking area in the courtyard.

The venue is located underground in a converted bunker at Döppersberg, right in front of the main train station in Wuppertal.

Accessibility

We have an optional lift for barrier free access. A staff member at the entrance can show you. Your accompanying person has free entry. There is a barrier free toilet.
The bigger floor Freifeld is accessible barrier free. It may have moving or pulsating lights, hazer or fog.
The smaller floor Annex is only accessible via a few stair treads. It has static lighting only.
The central lobby area has seating, music playing at low volume and static lights only.

Payment Options

Cashless payment is used throughout the club.

Wardrobe

There are no lockers, but we do not charge extra for the checkroom-bag drop-off is available for €2.
